Pediodontics or pediatric dentistry; is the branch of dentistry that deals with the oral care of children. These dentists are specialized to deal with all facets of child dentistry from psychology, to growth and development and are better equipped to deal with children than normal dentists; due to having knowledge of their fears and behavior patterns.

A Pediodontist will focus on prevention of future complications in their patients, as they see these children from their first dental treatment until around the age of 12-13 years old, when they transfer over to a normal dentist.

In our dental clinic we understand that going to the dentist can be an unpleasant experience for both young and older patients alike, but with a proper professional approach, children can now enjoy the experience with fast pain free sessions, whilst watching their favorite cartoon characters on an LCD screen. Also at the end of each session, every child receives a gift.

Contrary to general opinion, keeping the primary or ‘milk’ teeth for as long as possible is a very important thing. Some people think that losing a primary tooth is of no great concern, because their child will get another one sometime later on. Unfortunately, this is not true, as most of the problems occurring in adult life; have some link to early loss of the primary teeth.

We offer a wide range of treatments including (Pit & fissure sealants), which helps to prevent decay for the rest of your life. Also (Iontophoresis), this is the electronic application of fluoride to the permanent teeth, which increases their resistance to decay forever.

We also deal with issues like thumb sucking, mouth breathing, overbites, cavities, oral hygiene and general care, to ensure that children’s teeth grow and develop correctly and also in the prevention of future problems, as they are able to treat them at the onset.

A Pediodontist will work very closely with parents, to ensure that the very best can be done at this age; until all the adult teeth have erupted and the child moves onto a general dentist.
