These are thin, shell like covers made from porcelain that are bonded onto your natural teeth.
They are used for many different reasons some are to change the shape of your teeth, to cover up chipped or stained teeth, gaps or cracks, to give extra strength.
This is one of the more expensive options of cosmetic surgery, but it is one of the most natural looking and long lasting options available.
It will require several dental visits, first a diagnostic visit, then the ‘prep’ visit to create space for the veneers by shaving off a couple of millimeters of tooth. The dentist then creates a mold of your teeth which is sent off to the laboratory. Within a period of a few days you will return to the dentist for your ‘trial fitting’ appointment to make sure that the veneers fit. This is your opportunity to see the end result and make your comments. When you and the dentist are happy and satisfied with the results the dentist will bond / cement the veneers to your natural teeth using a bonding agent.
